Day 1: Shimla to Jiskun (7,630 ft)
Drive Distance: 195 km
Begin your adventure with a scenic drive through the picturesque valleys and rugged mountain terrain of Himachal Pradesh. Jiskun, a quaint Himalayan village, serves as your first base. Soak in the peaceful vibes and settle into a guesthouse or campsite surrounded by nature’s raw beauty
Day 2: Jiskun to Jakha (8,755 ft)
Trek Distance: 4 km | Duration: 4 hours
Step into the heart of Himachal as you trek through pine forests, charming wooden houses, and terraced fields. The trail to Jakha—the last inhabited village on this route—offers stunning views and cultural immersion in local mountain life.
Day 3: Jakha to Dhanderas Thatch (10,770 ft)
Trek Distance: 11 km | Duration: 7-8 hours
Enter an enchanting fir forest before the landscape opens into the vast meadow of Dhanderas Thatch. The highlight of the day: a jaw-dropping view of the mighty Rupin Waterfall. Camp here for the night under a starlit sky and the roar of cascading waters.
Day 4: Dhanderas Thatch to Upper Waterfall Camp (13,275 ft)
Trek Distance: 2 km | Duration: 3-4 hours
Get ready for a steep, exciting climb along the waterfall’s edge, over snow bridges or rocky trails, depending on the season. Upper Waterfall Camp, perched high above the valley, rewards you with panoramic Himalayan views and fresh alpine air.
Day 5: Upper Waterfall Camp to Rupin Pass (15,279 ft) to Ronti Gad (13,005 ft)
Trek Distance: 11.4 km | Duration: 9–10 hours
The big day! Begin early (around 3 AM) for the challenging climb to Rupin Pass. Navigate icy slopes and the dramatic Rupin Gully. The view from the pass—where Uttarakhand meets Himachal—is otherworldly. Descend to the tranquil meadows of Ronti Gad for a well-earned rest.
Day 6: Ronti Gad to Sangla (8,660 ft); Drive to Shimla
Trek Distance: 11.9 km | Duration: 6 hours
Make your final descent through colorful rhododendron forests and open meadows. Reach Sangla by afternoon, where your transport awaits. Enjoy a scenic drive back to Shimla with your heart full of memories and soul refreshed by the Himalayas.
