DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival at Yuksom (5,700 ft)
- Drive: 150 km from NJP – 6 to 7 hrs
- Arrive in Yuksom, the historical town that once served as Sikkim’s first capital.
- Surrounded by lush forests and mountains, Yuksom is the perfect place to begin your Himalayan journey.
- Meet your trek leader and team for a briefing, equipment check, and acclimatization walk.
- Overnight stay: Guesthouse/hotel
Day 2: Yuksom to Sachen (7,200 ft)
- Trek Distance: 8 km | Time: 5 hours
- Cross beautiful suspension bridges and hike through thick sub-tropical forests.
- Trek along the banks of the Rathong River, passing waterfalls and oak forests.
- Wildlife like red pandas, langurs, and Himalayan birds can often be spotted.
- Overnight stay: Campsite at Sachen amidst the wilderness
Day 3: Sachen to Tshoka (9,700 ft) via Bakhim
- Trek Distance: 7 km | Time: 5-6 hours
- Begin with a steep ascent through rhododendron forests to reach Bakhim.
- Stop for rest and tea at Bakhim, then continue the climb to Tshoka—a quaint Tibetan village with traditional huts and a small monastery.
- Witness the first views of Mt. Pandim and surrounding peaks.
- Overnight stay: Campsite near Tshoka lake
Day 4: Tshoka to Dzongri (13,200 ft) via Phedang
- Trek Distance: 9 km | Time: 6-7 hours
- A tough but rewarding day; ascend through magical rhododendron forests.
- Stop at Phedang (12,000 ft) for lunch with panoramic views.
- Reach Dzongri, a high-altitude meadow with breathtaking sunset views on the Kangchenjunga range.
- Overnight stay: Campsite at Dzongri meadow
Day 5: Acclimatization & Exploration Day at Dzongri
- Early morning hike to Dzongri Top (13,675 ft) for a 360° Himalayan sunrise—spectacular views of Mt. Kangchenjunga, Pandim, Kabru, Simvo, and more.
- Return to camp, relax, and enjoy the alpine atmosphere.
- Optional: Explore nearby ridges or meditate near sacred chortens.

Day 6: Dzongri to Thansing (12,900 ft)
Trek Distance: 10 km | Time: 5-6 hours
- Trek through meadows and descend into the valley beside the Prek Chu River.

- Thansing is a wide open campsite offering direct views of Mt. Pandim.

Day 7: Thansing to Lamuney (13,600 ft)

- A short and gradual ascent through scenic meadows.

- After soaking in the views, descend back to Lamuney, rest, and then continue to Thansing.

Day 9: Thansing to Tshoka via Phedang

- Retrace your steps through Phedang, experiencing the return journey in a new light.

Day 10: Tshoka to Yuksom | Departure
