DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrive in Sankri (1,920 M)
Travel: Drive from Dehradun to Sankri (Approx. 200 km / 8-9 hrs)
Route Highlights: Scenic drive along the Yamuna and Tons rivers, passing through Mussoorie, Kempty Falls, Purola, and Mori.
Stay: Guesthouse/Homestay in Sankri
Meals: Dinner
Altitude Gain: Sea level to 1,920 M
Spend the evening exploring the beautiful village of Sankri, the gateway to many Uttarkashi treks. Enjoy the first views of snow-clad peaks.
Day 2: Sankri – Taluka (2,107 M) – Dhatmeer – Seema (2,560 M)
Drive: 18 km / 1 hour to Taluka (Start point of the trek)
Trek: 6 km / 2 hrs
Route: Taluka – Dhatmeer – Seema via river trails and pine forests
Stay: Campsite at Seema
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Altitude Gain: 640 M approx.
Today’s journey begins with a short drive to Taluka, followed by an easy and scenic walk through dense forests, crossing wooden bridges and remote villages like Dhatmeer. Reach the quiet campsite at Seema near the Supin River.
Day 3: Seema (2,560 M) to Rainbasera (3,086 M)
Trek: 9 km / 4 hrs
Route: Gradual ascent alongside the river and through dense forests
Stay: Campsite at Rainbasera
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Altitude Gain: 526 M
This stretch passes through beautiful meadows, cascading waterfalls, and boulder-filled paths. Rainbasera is a peaceful spot nestled beside the Supin River, offering a great Himalayan view.
Day 4: Rainbasera to Ruinsara Tal (3,565 M)
Trek: 7.5 km / 4 hrs
Route: Boulders, moraine patches, alpine terrain
Stay: Campsite near Ruinsara Lake
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Altitude Gain: 479 M
Today’s trek takes you to the stunning glacial lake – Ruinsara Tal. Surrounded by meadows and towering peaks like Black Peak (Kalanag), it’s a perfect place to relax and soak in Himalayan serenity.
Day 5: Ruinsara Tal to Odari Camp (4,008 M)
Trek: 4 km / 3 hrs
Route: Steep rocky climb through meadows
Stay: Campsite at Odari (meaning ‘cave’)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Altitude Gain: 443 M
This short yet challenging stretch takes you deeper into the alpine zone. Odari is a historical spot believed to be where Bali, the brother of Lord Hanuman, once stayed.
Day 6: Odari to Bali Pass Base Camp (4,678 M)
Trek: 3.25 km / 3 hrs
Route: Steep ascent with incredible views of Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Black Peak
Stay: Base Camp (High Altitude Camping)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Altitude Gain: 670 M
This is a crucial day for acclimatization before the pass climb. The trail is steep and rocky but rewards you with majestic views. Early dinner and rest for the summit push.
Day 7: Base Camp – Bali Pass (4,950 M) – Lower Dhamni (3,415 M)
Trek: 10 km / 8-9 hrs
Route: 1 km steep ascent to Bali Pass summit, 9 km descent to Lower Dhamni
Stay: Campsite in Lower Dhamni
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Altitude Gain: +272 M to summit, then -1,535 M descent
Start before sunrise. Reach the majestic Bali Pass and witness a 360-degree view of the Himalayas. The descent is steep, technical, and thrilling – passing snow patches and narrow ridges.
Day 8: Lower Dhamni – Yamunotri – Jaan Ki Chatti – Drive to Dehradun
Trek: 9.5 km / 5 hrs
Route: Full descent via Yamunotri Temple
Drive: 175 km / 6–7 hrs to Dehradun (same day departure possible)
Meals: Breakfast
The final descent leads you to the sacred Yamunotri Temple. After paying respects, trek to Jaan Ki Chatti where your vehicle will be waiting. Drive back to Dehradun with unforgettable memories.
